Branding Web Design
In order to brand my new site WebDesign I have decided to continue with the colour theme that I have used on other websites of mine.
Branding with colour
Color is the first thing that strikes you when you see any printed matter, or any website. It also plays a huge part in memory recall. See a pink newspaper and one immediately associates it with The Financial Times especially if you live in the U.K. Think of Heineken and you associate it with the colour green.
I have chosen to stay with 3 colours.
Red: #B30000
Black: #000000
White: #FFFFFF
White for simplicity, as I personally prefer the clean uncluttered look, which also makes any graphic stand out on the page, and the site easy to read. Of course you may find this not to your liking.
Red for attention grabbing and energy.
Black for the bold, classic feel, and easy to read text on a white background.
As you can see from the screenshots below you can turn a basic script into something more dynamic.
A basic Semiomantic XO script.
